R. Hovenden & Sons Limited was a wholesaler and exporter of pharmaceutical and hairdressing products. The company was established by Robert Hovenden in London in 1892.The company sold a wide range of products such as razors, combs, perfumes, toiletries, mirrors and walking sticks. However the company seemed to be best known for being "human hair merchants". They did a brisk trade supplying pre-made wigs, hair curlers, and false buns which were incorporated into womens' hairstyles.
